New 4stream App and Firmware Upgrade 4.6.328252

Works on my junk drawer iPhone 6 with iOS 12.4. The app host iPhone and Arylic device must be on same network obviously. What’s firmware in devices? I got “new” S10 and it’s factory firmware was not compatible with latest Apple store app, these work for me 4stream version 2.8.9905 and S10’s 4.6.328252.27. Without working app you’ll have to prompt device with status command ie
http://192.168.1.107/httpapi.asp?command=getStatusEx
replace 192.168.1.107 with your device,
reply "{ “uuid”: “FF31F09EFFA0D11A046DFCAC”, “DeviceName”: “Media Room_5101”, “GroupName”: “Media Room_5101”, “ssid”: “Media Room_5101”, “language”: “en_us”, “firmware”: “4.6.328252”, …

thanks for replying so quickly! you can find the firmware version of my a50+ below, but i should note that the app still crashes even when my a50+ is turned off and not connected. it doesn’t get to the „searching for your sound system“ screen, it just shows the 4stream logo and closes after a few seconds. this behavior is not present when my iphone is not connected to wifi. i know that’s pointless and stupid because the devices have to be on the same network, but i figured it might help finding out why it doesn’t work

A tip for those who, like me, have problems with the structure and speed of the new 4Stream app: the android “iEast Play” and “AudioCast” apps provide the same module communication, but still on the old interface - true, the new interface specific feature (EQ ) is not available with these - but this is not used to track it on the streamer, for example (it is advisable to use a linear, colorless output for the amplifier)…

thanks, tried it and my a50+ works with the ieast play app!

Hi Arylic,
It is a true disaster, that firmwareupdates happens automatically without asking the user. Especially when the new version is full of bugs.
For a couple of months now I have had two useless devices in my multiroom setup, where I used to stream via airplay from a Mac with all our music (A50 and A30). After the firmware update, the sound goes in and out for every second as other users has described. I have tried the beta firmware found somewhere here in a thread, and it lets me include the device continuously with the other devices. BUT, it is out of sync with other AirPlay-devices (behind them).
Now what is the plan with this bugs? I have a feeling, that this is not the devices I bought, and they are no longer working as described and as they initially was tested to behave.

Hello,

Here we got again, new version 4.6.337862.6 (build 20211206) without asking the user.

What url should I block on my firewall to prevent checking for updates and then autopugrade?

Put this in your browser with your ip adress of player, but first downgrade and try,i think that update will show but will not update because of false command adress,it will show error download process and will not update automatically
http://192.168.100.8/httpapi.asp?command=SetUpdateServer:http://ota.rakoit.com2/alpha

So here the announced update is now installed. Unfortunately both our Arylic Devices are now 1/2 second behind all other AirPlay devices in house and in that sense useless. The reason why we bought this product was syncing vis AirPlay which worked perfectly in the beginning until this summer firmware update. Planning a complain/return.

Hi, because linkplay have some agreements with some music services, so we have to remain the feature of pushing upgrade to device in background. You can block this URL on your router, http://ota.rakoit.com/release, then no new versions would be detected.

Hi, what’s the other devices in your house. The Arylic devices only support airplay1, and should have no multiroom feature. And this delay is depending on the buffer used in device, it would be impossible to remain in sync for different platforms.

Streaming comes from a Mac-computer running iTunes (Airplay1). This computer is connected to a high end stereo and able to connect to airplay devices as f.ex. Apple Airport Express, apple TV. Normally the devices report their latency to the mac which then manages to sync them all. This also worked with the Arylic devices BEFORE the fatal upgrade, but is now broken.

Hi Frank
Can you please provide an update - the problem is still in place.
Pls inform Joy about the status - she is not aware obviously
Alex

Hi Alex, I’m not sure what’s going on, could you please send me a mail frank@arylic.com for the full story?

The new remote playlist option (httpapi.asp?command=setPlayerCmd:m3u:play:URL) is great, but is there a way a media server can provide a playlist to 4Stream for it to play on a local Arylic box? Or is there a way for it to know which Arylic box the 4Stream app is talking to?

Hi @adk3141,

I use XUPnPd to share a playlist on a local network.

Hello @Forum, I have a noob question maybe -. If I am feeding analog out from S50pro+ to my Denon AVR-X1300 receiver (assuming I am using the built-in DAC of Arylic), am I getting full 24/192 from compatible sources?

I was under the impression that only the Optical/Coax out downconverts the 24/192 to 16/44.1 and the analog is full bandwidth. Am I correct?
