Hi John,
My player works perfectly. As I understand it the issue is down to a fault with the multi band eq. Mine has simple bass and treble controls. The eq is part of the Linkplay module as far as I can tell. Again…needs input from Frank here.
M
Hi MartinD,
I also updated the Linkplay module with the tool Frank sent me a few month ago. The update solved the issues.
The actual FW version of my board is 4.6.524455.45 and I still have the multi band EQ.
Hi NoSie,
Very interesting. I just checked the Linkplay F/W I was sent and its number is 4.6.516447 The .45 is missing from the F/W code number so maybe this is something to do with the Arylic board version once installed (just speculating here).
The F/W code was dated 10th May 2023. I also have an earlier version but didn’t use it as it had no SPDIF out which I need as I use an external DAC.
I have two boards and both updated OK with this F/W and have no multi band EQ.
Isn’t life complicated
M
Hi NoSie,
Just checked again. I was almost right…The version you mention is the one that apparently doesn’t have SPDIF out and it does have multi band eq. It is dated 28th July 2023.
My mistake…sorry, it was a long time ago!
Again, some input from Frank would be great here.
M
Hi MartinD,
it is getting more complicated!
The FW I’ve received from Frank ist 4.6.524455 without .45.
It is dated 27th July 2023. It includs the multi band EQ and the SPDIF out! I’m use only SPDIF out connected to my active speakers.
Hi NoSie,
Yep…life is complicated!
What you say is entirely possible. I never tried the version you mention as I was told by Frank that SPDIF out was not enabled. It seems that it is.
I don’t use the onboard EQ as I use an external DSP so, for now I think I will stick where I am as it currently does what I need.
Be great to get some final word from Frank here I think.
M
Hi guys, the last version firmware 4.6.524455 have single output now, either I2S (to DAC output) or SPDIF (to optical output), you could select it on APP.
Hi Frank,
Many thanks for the clarification here.
For now, I am going to stick with the 4.6.516447 version.
I use the optical out to feed my external DAC and the concurrent analog out feeds the subwoofer.
Having the option of only analog or digital out at a time is not suitable for my set-up.
What is the reason for only feeding one output at a time? I cannot think of any situation where turning one off would be an advantage.
I look forward to an update…
Martin.
Hi,
May I ask for 4.6.524455 firmware?
I’m still running old 4.6.509530.45 and experience some glitches and music skipping…
Greets,
Gonzo
Hi Martin,
I’ve been told that the processing power is not enough for the concurrent output… and I’m afraid it would be working in this way after.
Hi Gonzo,
The latest version I have is here
Hi Frank,
Many thanks for the response.
The version I am using in my two HD products is 4.6.516447 and this supports concurrent Optical and Analog out without any apparent glitches of problems.
Maybe worth a re-visit.
Do you have any details of the changes and updates included in latest release you linked to Gonzo?
As I have two HD boards it would be easy for me to test and compare version if this helps in any way.
Many thanks again.
Martin.
Thanks for sharing new FW (4.6.529755.45)
Dared to flash my board, not bricked yet
Will test in next days with Tidal hifi and radios.
One question: it has EQ but I do not see any switch between I2S and SPDIF outputs in the app (Android)
Is there any ‘special’ app needed other but the latest 4Stream from Play Store?
Greets,
Gonzo
Hi Gonzo,
Glad to hear it is working for you.
Are you able to check if optical out and analog out both work concurrently?
When you say Tidal HiFi does it now play higher than 16/44 audio?
Sorry for all the questions but without release notes it is difficult to judge if it is worth moving for now.
Thanks in advance.
Martin.
Hi all,
Well I took the plunge and updated one board to 4.6.529755.45
It now has multi band EQ which can be toggled off/on and seems to work.
Clarification…Analog and Optical do not work concurrently. No obvious switch in the app.
I have optical out and no analog out.
When you select Amazon Music HD/UHD in the Amazon setting tab nothing plays and it skips all tracks. When not selected it plays 16/44 as normal.
BBC Radio no longer works from the vTuner list or the BBC Radio tab.
Again…some release notes would be nice here.
Martin.
This is the information I know. There is a way to switch between I2S and SPDIF in the latest firmware 4.6.52x with one output at the same time.
Requires iOS version of Wiim Home. It is not possible in the Android version for unknown reasons. Wiim Home(iOS) can switch the output from the device settings.
Indeed, with that update, frequent sound interruptions no longer occur.
The current issues are,
・Official 4Stream does not support this function
・Currently there is no way to switch it on Android
・Output settings are not saved and persisted on reset
These require further updates.
Hi Yohine,
Very interesting, many thanks.
I tried your suggestion but the issue for me is that although you can select the output you cannot have concurrent analog and optical out.
I use optical to feed the DAC and analog to feed the subwoofer.
Version 4.6.516447.45 allows concurrent outputs and also seems to not have any audio glitches.
Again, Frank, some release notes would be very helpful for us all here.

Hi everybody,
can somebody tell me if this firmware version solves power issues on the I2S and symetrical power connections? I am facing a loud pop on power up and down. It is not healthy for my speakers because I feed them with an IcePower 1200 AS2. The only solution for now is powering down the amp first and powering up last. It is the only bottleneck for finisching my project.
Jordy
Hi Jordy,
I use 4.6.516447.45.
I use analog l/r out along with optical out.
I feed the optical into a miniDSP and then on to Ice power amps.
The analog l/r feeds directly to the sub where the filtering etc is done.
I can confirm that there are no power off/on thumps. I switch off/on all the devices mentioned at the same time.
I cannot say if this is the case with the other f/w versions mentioned.
Hope this helps.
Hi Martin,
thank you for your answer. Before replying I did check the analog connection of the HD board first. No problem there nor the coax/optical outputs. I only have that problem with I2S.
I downloaded the 4.6.529755.45 firmware, but not uploaded it yet to the board. Just wanted to be sure that someone here could verify it solves the problem.
Well, I will take the “plunge” too and upload the firmware.
Will post the result later.
Jordy
Hello everyone,
I’m experiencing an issue with my Arylic Upstream HD DAC, SPDIF In Board, OLED Display Module, and Case of Up2stream Series device where the sound disappears for 1 second. My device is running firmware version 4.6.509530.45 with a build date of 20230302.
I’ve attempted to reach out through the support chat and via email, but unfortunately, I haven’t received a helpful response. Even after referencing information from this forum about the existence of new firmware versions, I was informed that there are no new firmware updates available to address this issue.
Following the instructions provided at Firmware |, I set the Update Server to http://ota.rakoit.com/alpha and received an ‘OK’ response, but no new updates were found.
Additionally, attempting to load the firmware file (a97_rakoit_new_SECURE_uImage_ota_moduleMulti_20230918_4.6.zip) posted above through the Update Tool didn’t resolve the issue. After uploading, the device simply restarted and continued to run on the old firmware.
I’m seeking assistance and would greatly appreciate it if someone could provide me with a firmware update that fixes this issue for my device.
