Just updated my UP2Stream HD today and it is now dead!!!!!

Hi Andril,
Sorry to hear you are having problems.
There are two sets of F/W on the HD (and all other) boards.
One set is for the Main PCB and the other is for the Linkplay plug on card.
The app only shows the state of the mains PCB I think.
All I can suggest you do is to chase Frank via support and ask for help direct from him.
Good luck and Chinese NY has been a delay for all.
Martin.

Are you still here?

Yesterday I discovered an issue with 4.6.529755. That output rate is limited to 48kHz. It may be a reduction in processing to solve the sound dropout, but it is no longer HD. Older versions should have play HD rate.

I would like to try your 4.6.516447.45. Will it still be HD?

Unfortunately, the firmware by Arylic seems to have been discontinued, so we are unable to download any version. I think we need to verify and share HD and stable versions.

Hi Yohine,

I have given up waiting for any updates and even if they did arrive I would be very wary of installing them. It does what it does and I don’t expect to see improvements.

Maybe this explains the move away from streaming designs and into the A50/B50 type units.

Thank you for the reply. I pray that your problem will be resolved successfully.

Below is my report. I record for anyone who needs it.

I received a response from frank today. The sample rate constraint I wrote earlier was not a firmware issue. That setting was added in 4.6.529755 and can only be changed from 4stream. It is not displayed on Wiim Home.

The problem with the A97 with 4.6.509530 was that the sound would sometimes cut out. But 4.6.529755 solved this problem, cannot perform high-rate playback, so I thought there was no option that could satisfy both.

However, I confirmed that 4.6.529755 can play high sample rates by changing the settings from 4stream. Both problems are now resolved.

I understand that your UP2Stream HD seems dead after a firmware update. Here’s what you can do:

  1. Contact Arylic Support: Since the update appears to have damaged your device, warranty should apply. Contact Arylic support for a replacement Contact Us

  2. Do not attempt repair yourself: Opening the device might void the warranty, so avoid self-repair attempts.

Great advice Warnersmith. Just 1.5 years after it broke.
This thread has moved on a long way since the initial post and Arylic has already solved the issue for me and many others.
Many thanks.

Hi,
can I ask you where to download 4.6.529755.45 firmware?

Hi,

Sorry, I have no link for the 55.45 version. Frank is the man to help here.
You will also need the upgrade tool and again Frank should be able to help with that.
All the best.
