Very low volume, then suddenly gets higher popping the speakers

Hi, I just got a brand new B50, but when I turn it on, it starts with very low volume, and when I increase to something close to 95% or just wait a long time, it gives a loud pop to the speakers and the volume then suddenly gets higher, sometimes in both speakers, but mostly just one randomly.

I tried multiple speakers, checked polarity, cables, different input sources, and nothing. Also, I’m seeing lots of people online with this same problem, but no solution whatsoever.

Does somebody know any solution or these are just very low quality products and should ask for my money back?

Hey. I had the exact same issue. I email Arylic support and received two slightly different responses from two people, both telling me to update the firmware.
The instructions they provided are not working and I am now trying to troubleshoot it… hoping I haven’t totally bricked the device.
Will be going back to support today…

Hi, I set mine up today and have the exact same issues. Seemed to work for the first hour then have been having nonstop issues with volume being too low on all inputs. On Bluetooth, it jumps up like you described to very loud with crackling. On HDMI Arc, the volume is just constantly too low, where I can barely hear it at 100%.

I reached out to support via email but don’t have my hopes up given that they’ve ignored this thread so far. Did you ever figure out a solution? I’m on firmware v60 btw, and I don’t see any option to update through the mobile app.

Hi guys, I have 3 problems

  1. Is the volume problem, it does not change until 90% and then it accelerates super fast.

  2. Hdmi volume starts low and then clips after a few seconds and increases volume unexpectedly.

  3. Hdmi does NOT send audio if I turn my TV OFF and ON (LG 47LM620S). The TV shows it as connected to B50 because I don’t get any Audio from TV either. I need to change the source back and forward to get audio. It does go to Standby mode, it just does not wake up properly.
    Software version is :60-9d68b705-9

Switched to version 57 by using the updater on PC and connecting to USB-C and selecting the only version available, and these were all fixed ! V60 was not properly tested probably, so they did a downgrade to 57. I get more volume now, it sounds better.
Still 1 bug remaining, EQ is not remembered so you need to reselect it every time you use it.

oh! version 57!

Agradecido!

I had the same problem and after downgrading the firmware from v60 to v57-5be7aedf-8 the low volume and crackling problem is away.
It´s better and more save to do the firmware downgrade with a usb data cable directly with a pc instead of using and usb drive. And be sure to use a data cable, not only a cable for power.

I’ve encountered a similar problem. I have a B50 with firmware version 60-9d68b705-9, and I’ve been using it for 3 days. I’m really unhappy that the first thing I have to do is go to the forum. If I turn the B50 off and on again, the sound is incredibly quiet. If I set the volume to maximum (100%), after 1 second, the sound suddenly becomes much louder and then works normally—until it loses power or goes into sleep mode again. Then the whole cycle repeats. I want the sound to be normal by default. It feels like, apparently, due to different power outputs for 4 and 8 Ohms, the speakers don’t get enough power by default, but once they reach the transition peak for 8 Ohms, they start working normally.

What should I do? I’m afraid to update the firmware—many people’s devices break, and besides, I have a Mac.

So I finally was able to fix my b50. I reached out to support and they sent me the v61 firmware to install and instructions on how to update it. I was on v60 so I guess they just sold a bunch of defective v60 B50s around the world. Turns out updating was a terrible process, tried multiple times using multiple USBs, executing it via the app or clicking multiple times the main button, and after a lot of tries it did work randomly.

This particular problem goes away if you update the v60 firmware version.

Just make sure to format a very old USB, using Windows, MacOS doesnt work because is not the correct FAT type, use a partition smaller than 2 GBs and start the updating process without connecting the app via bluetooth. at least that combination worked for me.

Good luck guys,

Can you share the v61 firmware and instructions to update?

Same problem here.

I got a B50 with V60 installed. Downgraded to V57 using the firmware upgrade tool. No longer need to put volume to maximum for sound to wake up but I get intermittent sound drops now. I’d like v61

I have the identical problem. When I turn on the amplifier, the sound doesn’t work correctly. Only when I turn up the volume extremely high does it “pop” in the speakers, and only then are both speakers driven correctly.

Will the firmware update to version 61 definitely and permanently solve this?

How do I get the new firmware and where can I find the installation instructions?

Hi, updating the firmware worked for me. But I’m not a support employee, just a user like you, so I can’t guarantee anything.
What I recommend everyone here is to reach out to support with this complaint, so they can send you the latest firmware directly, along with instructions on how to do it. Because I guess it depends on your firmware version and model. As far as I know, there’s no public repository from which to download the latest firmware update. Instead, this company is quite unprofessional in this regard, and someone has to email you the firmware directly. At least that’s what happened in my case.
If not, you can always request a refund.

Just commenting here to get notified whenever v61 is publicly available or a changelog of v60/61 gets published.

Downgrading to v57 with a USB cable as shown in the post called new-upgrade-tool-for-our-bluetooth-products/8450 fixed the issue for me. (Not allowed to include links here)

I can’t imagine the number of refunds v60 is causing.

Exactly the same issue. Almost refunded but I’ll try the v57 downgrade first.

I think v57 fixes it but now there’s a standby issue where it takes so long to wakeup that the tv doesn’t switch to it. Also, the arc standby toggle in the app doesn’t work. Does the remote toggle work if I find some AAA batteries?
