Before they were sold out, of course, I managed to get my hands on a few Up2Stream Amp Sub amplifiers.
Now, I finally have a project I can use one in. Unfortunately, it produced terrible sound quality at any volume, except for very low. I assumed my project sub (which was a Velodyne subwoofer with a blown amp I bought on marketplace for parts) was blown. So I instead, ordered a new 10" woofer.
New one shows up; test the Amp Sub to the same results. Heavy distortion at pretty much all levels.
Also noted that messing with the crossover seemed to affect the crossover on the non-sub amps in the same group. Kind of an interesting relationship there. Not necessarily a bad one, but I’ve spent hours fine tuning the set of speakers connected to the Up2Stream Amp with ACPWorkbench and REW; I would want to disable this feature…
So far, I’ll say, I’ve been incredibly dissatisfied with the Amp Sub, and regret purchasing the SIX units I did.
Has anyone had any experience with this? I couldn’t find much documentation or experimentation with this amp.
