Unreliable Multiroom connection

I’ve got two Up2Steam Amp v3’s. One in the living room and one in the kitchen. Both are almost always linked together in a group. Ever since a few weeks, the group member has problems. The playback sometimes stops or has frequent hickups. While the main unit just keeps playing as normal.

Most of the time, the living room amp is the main amp. At first, I assumed the WiFi connection of the one in the kitchen was bad or weak. I’ve moved the amp to a better location but still the problem happens. No playback or frequent drops when grouped with the living room unit. Then I went and made the kitchen unit the main unit and added the living room to it’s group. And a funny thing happend: the kitchen started playing flawlessly, but now the living room amp was having the same issues.

I’m tempted to pull some wires and connect them through LAN. But before I do this, I do want to ask if this is a known issue or not. The synced playback has been working without much problems for a long time, and only started acting weird since a few weeks. So a wired connection should not be needed.

I solve several multizone problems with ip fixe on each amp, i don’t know if this will work for you, bu tyou can try this before wiring all of them.

You mean give them a static ip? They already have that.

Yes i mean the static ip. if it’s already done, i don’t have any other idea.

Lan connection may be your only resolve (see my thread “Arylic is garbage”) I bought 4 devices thinking I could enjoy music through out my house via WIFI as advertised…No such luck for me and this is going on 9 or 10 months, I’ve lost track. If you come across a solution, please let me know.
