Security Breach

So I just received spam email from my dedicated email address for Arylic (only used by Arylic forums).

For others, this would have been around the 17-18 May 2025 from info@overbranch.com “COMMUNITY”, An ad for motorcycles and vaping … Great!

Just a warning, if this was intentional selling of my email to a 3rd party - I don’t appreciate it. If it was unintentional, you have a security breach.

I don’t think it’s from this forum, I’ve also registered and did not notice this kind of AD. And if there’s a leaking, I guess it will throw bunch of mails.

Anyway, thanks for you notification, I’ll check it.

Unusual you did not get one. But all my emails are customised to the domain I register at and it would be strange (read this as impossible) that I used it elsewhere - I just do this for every site I login for many years (have 100’s of emails). I know every time who the originator (who to contact) is even if they did not use their original email/domain.

I also noticed the same spam email on my Paypal email too. Which is annoying but might help narrow down why/how since I purchased from Arylic using Paypal.

Every time this happens - and it happens probably once a year that I have to contact a company it is either, former employee ‘might’ have taken info, malicious ad on website, an actual hack and access of info, someone stuffed up while testing some new mail spam service.

It is of no real significance for me, I shutdown the old emails, generate a new one, move on with life. This is more of a community service for those with 1-2 emails and basically a warning for Arylics IT dept something has probably gone wrong - honeypot email address basically.
