Arylic LP10 issues

I recently purchased an LP10 streamer and find it amazing in terms of its overall range of functions.

However, I have noticed a few annoying issues:

  1. Hardware/firmware
  • There does not appear to be a standby mode—either the device is completely off, which means it is no longer visible on the network and cannot be controlled remotely, or it is permanently on, which means that the connected DAC is also permanently on because it is constantly receiving an optical signal.

  • The sample rate from the optical output always corresponds to 88.2 kHz for source data with 44.1 kHz (determined on the Topping D50s DAC).

  • The sample rate from the optical output always corresponds to 96 kHz for source data with 192 kHz or 48 kHz (also determined on the Topping D50s DAC).

I think that there should actually be no change in the sampling rate of the source signal at the optical output.

  1. Go Control app (Android version)
  • Many of the internet radio stations from “ArylicRadio” and “YouRadio” do not work at all, there are far too few of them and there is no search function.

  • When connecting to my UPnP DLNA server via the “NAS PLAY” function, only a fraction of the actual content is displayed. Other DLNA clients (in FrontierSilicon devices or software such as VLC or BubbleUPnP) that I use do not have this problem; they display and play all content.

  1. Integration in general
  • A reasonable HomeAssistant integration (e.g., to read the status of the device, such as “device starts playback”) does not seem to be possible. Perhaps this would have been possible via “LinkPlay,” but the LP10 does not seem to support this.

It would be really nice to see these issues resolved in future versions of the LP10 firmware and Go Control app!

While we’re suggesting new features & enhancements …
It would be great to see support for WPS network setup and/or the ability to manually enter the name of the wifi network in the setup stage. It would also be helpful to enable network setup using the Google Home app.

To add on to this sampling issue through optical - if the source is a very hi res 24 bit the external DAC won’t play any audio as it sees something outside it’s decoding capabilities which has made a lot of my music unplayable. I am sure this must be a firmware issue please update this so I can put this device as my main component for streaming to replace my wiim mini. I love everything about this device better than the wiim except this bug which is a huge problem

Hi there,
same here.

I bought the LP10 after my Wiim mini broke, and now I can’t play a lot of tracks via Tidal Connect.
My old Denon AVR 3802 has problems with 88.2 kHz, just like it did with the Wiim. With the Wiim, however, I could define the rate myself in the app, and the Wiim has an integrated MQA decoder.

Can you add this feature with a firmware update?

Otherwise, I may have to return the LP10 and buy the Wiim again (which would be a shame). The LP10 is really great, but personally, the product isn’t much use to me as I almost exclusively use Tidal.

Thanks

I received it yesterday, here is my review and list of my issues:

Setup:
Device was connected via Wi-Fi at first. Go control app connected via Bluetooth, but did not find Wi-Fi networks. I connected via ethernet, found out through my router the assigned IP via DHCP and surprise, the LP10 has a web interface!
From the web interface all Wi-Fi networks were discovered, I set up my password, changed the device name, restarted and then voiala! it was connected to my 5G Wi-Fi and immediately detected by the Go Control App. Never had any disconnection problems.
So the setting up was not very straightforward - at least in my case (Samsung phone with Android 15).
I would have preferred if the web gui could be password protected however.

  • Installation:
Very discreet unit, integrates fine with any setup.
I would like to have an option to dim or turn of the display.

Use - the Good:
-Bluetooth- works fine, and connects automatically to the paired device when bluetooth input is selected (via the remote control, LP10, or Go Control app

  • Google Cast. You have to enable it through the Go Control app (and accept Google terms), then it immediately showed up in the google home app. Works fin as a single g.cast endpoint or added in a group with other g. caste enabled devices. No delays or sync issues in group play.

Use- items that need improvement:

  • Radio stations. This needs work since some stations do not work, the selection is limited. Arylic should find a way to let you create a custom station list and add your own stations.
  • Spotify Connect. The LP10 shows up only as a Google Cast device, meaning you get the relevant restrictions (no gapless playback, and no lossless audio support). I tried disabling Google cast via the LP10 web interface to see if there was a conflict, also unlinked Spotify from Google Home. Then the LP10 did not appear at all as a target device on the Spotify mobile app. I checked with another Android device, same issue.
  • NAS Play. I have a plex server that advertises itself as a UPnP device. It was not detected in the Go Control app, and since I could not find any documentation on NasPlay I am not sure if it is supposed to.

Use- Remote Control
-Very wide IR range, very responsive.
-Still haven’s figured out what the “heart” or “1” and “2” buttons do.

Items not yet tested (not currently needed in my setup - but very good to have):
-Airplay
-Aux input
-Optical output
-USB

-Sound
Even though there isn’t any published information on the internal DAC / OpAmps, the volume level is great, and the sound quality is excellent (better than Chromecast Audio).
The bass-trebble and EQ in the GoControl app works just fine and allows fine tuning.

Conclusion:
Great device to make your HiFi smart in an affordable manner (half the price from the relevant WiiM that supports both G. Cast and Airplay 2), very flexible, great sound, but the app and firmware need some improvements. I am confident that Arylic will improve this with OTA updates!

i just got also the lp10. is youtube working using the youtube app? also i saw that they were using 4stream but it doesnt look like finding it. also how you check for updates etc on the device? go control looks very limited…

Let’s start with the base. The lp10 is great.

Only issue that I found which was frustrating but let’s agree that it’s minimal is that in tidal connect there are issues in very high quality albums when you stream through optical to a dac. I use the topping e30 II and when testing with kind of blue from miles Davis with 24 bit 192khz the dac receives nothing and shuts down. Complete silence

When streaming from the THE ensoulment 24bit 96khz the dac receives nothing it shows only 48.0 pcm and the opt is blinking and shuts down.

When playing cage the elephant tell me I am pretty in 24bit 44.1 it receives the signal and streams properly.
Anything in 16bit and 44.1 works fine.

Verdict. They lied about the upper limit of the optical or there is a bug in the firmware. Simple. Other wise the tidal connect works fine.

Ok. Now honesty check. If you are frustrated that a 80 euro amazing streamer doesn’t work well in 24/192 flac you are in need of psychiatric care since the audible difference in this format requires a setup of many thousands and volumes above average. If you have this setup and you bought a 80 euro streamer you are cheap.

Tidal connects works perfectly in 16/44.1 which is what the optical actually sends anyway so no downsampling or upsampling and in mediums setups will be some minimal difference in above average volumes in comparison with the 320 low quality which is upsampled in 44.1 dac.

So. My ADHD is disappointed, but my actual mentally stable self is very happy for not using the 4stream app and streaming in excellent quality music format WITHOUT any PC or cable.
Best Budget best buy ever.

ok problem has been corrected.
i streamed from tidal all the albums that i mentioned and the dac responds correctly and displays the correct quality, it plays properly and the 24/192.
Very fast problem solving!

Hello Lason,
How did you solve the problem, with a firmware update?

I like LP10, but there are a few issues that annoy me.
Basically, all the issues are written above by Lumpiloy, Daniel, Dinos, Lason.

I really hope that everything will be resolved with the new FW update.

my only problem was with tidal in very high definition tracks through the optical out. now after the final update, everything goes to the dac properly and it shows the correct bitrate.

Unfortunately, I cannot confirm this.

With Spotify Connect, DLNA and also Internet Radio, the LP10 still transmits incorrect sample rates (e.g. 88.2 kHz instead of the correct 44.1 kHz) to the DAC via the optical output (TOSLINK).

My firmware version is: AR241CE_9243.16.2

Same for me…
nothing has changed.

  • The sample rate from the optical output always corresponds to 88.2 kHz for source data with 44.1 kHz (determined on the Audiolab 7000a).
  • source data with 48 kHz corresponds to 96 kHz (also determined on the Audiolab 7000a DAC).

source data with 192 kHz, doesn’t play

I’m playing music from USB stick.

FW ver. AR241CE_9243.16.2
GO Control app ver. 2.1.2.503
