Is anyone experiencing WEIRD things with their 2.1 Amp & Up2stream Amp V4?
Whilst connected to WIFI and my Deezer account will SWITCH to spotify by ITSELF and play tracks from spotify. This is freaking me out!
Hi there, I am a newbie user on this forum. And I have some issues with my brand new Up2Stream HD DAC… But how can I open a tag in the forum? I cannot see anyway…
As someone who has seen many innovative gadgets throughout my life, I was initially skeptical about whether a small module like the Up2Stream Mini could truly transform a conventional audio system into a modern streaming powerhouse. However, after integrating it into a portable speaker, my opinion changed completely. At 60 years old, I have witnessed many technological advancements – and this little streaming module truly surprised me.
First Impressions and Preparation
At first glance, it was clear that the Up2Stream Mini, with its compact dimensions of approximately 55 x 42 x 12 mm and a weight of just 60 grams, was perfect for integration into a portable speaker. I vividly remember unpacking the module in my workshop, imagining how it could fit into a speaker that I could take anywhere. With the necessary care and some craftsmanship, I installed the Mini in an old yet beloved speaker that I had collected over the years. It was a joyful moment when I completed the preparations, knowing that something special was about to happen.
Integration into the Portable Speaker
The installation process was surprisingly straightforward. First, I ensured that all connections—whether for power supply or audio output—were secure and stable. I opted to use a separate USB power adapter to avoid potential interference. Mounting the module inside the enclosure required some precision, as I needed to ensure that it was not only mechanically secure but also well-ventilated to prevent overheating from affecting the sound quality.
The Up2Stream Mini offers various connection options, including a stereo line-out via a 3.5mm jack and digital outputs. This flexibility allowed me to seamlessly integrate it into the existing amplifier circuit of the speaker. Since the speaker was originally designed for pure analog operation, I had to make some adjustments to accommodate digital signals. As an experienced audio enthusiast, this was an exciting challenge that I gladly took on.
Streaming and Operation
One of the device’s biggest advantages is its support for modern streaming services. Through the free 4STREAM app—available for iOS and Android—I was able to configure my Up2Stream Mini effortlessly. The setup was quick: I connected the device to my home network and then enabled the so-called Direct Mode, which allows me to stream music even when no Wi-Fi infrastructure is available. This means that whether I’m relaxing by the lake on a sunny day or spending time in the park, I can enjoy my favorite music without relying on cables or stationary equipment.
The app not only provided easy control but also allowed me to update the firmware, which is an essential feature for me as a technology enthusiast. I especially appreciated the ability to switch between different operating modes: whether as a standalone device or as part of a multi-room system, the possibilities seemed endless.
Personal Experience in Mobile Use
The real highlight for me was using the device in a portable speaker. In the past, achieving high-quality sound on the go was always a challenge. With the Up2Stream Mini, however, I was able to establish a seamless connection to music services like Spotify and even my NAS, giving me access to my entire music library at any time. I was particularly impressed by the Direct Mode: without relying on an existing Wi-Fi network, I gained an entirely new level of flexibility for music playback.
The sound coming from my modified speaker was surprisingly clear and detailed—a testament to the fact that technology doesn’t have to be big and bulky to be impressive. Even at higher volumes, the sound remained crisp without unwanted distortion or noise. In my long experience as an audio enthusiast, I have rarely found such an excellent balance between portability and sound quality.
Conclusion and Outlook
Overall, the Up2Stream Mini has thoroughly convinced me in my daily use. The easy integration into my portable speaker, combined with the streaming flexibility and outstanding sound quality, makes this device an indispensable companion for anyone who does not want to compromise on high-quality sound while on the go. As someone who has witnessed many technological developments, I can confidently say that the Up2Stream Mini is not just a small gadget but a real game-changer for mobile audio systems.
I highly recommend that anyone looking for an innovative solution for on-the-go music experiences take a closer look at this module. With the Up2Stream Mini, a simple speaker transforms into a mobile powerhouse—and that, for an experienced music enthusiast like me, is a true added value in everyday life.
