6-zone multiroom amplifiers using 12 Up2Stream AMP V3's

Hi @zpl1025, is the function of saving the multigroup configuration after power off/on already been fixed in new firmware?

Great Project!

Hi @zpl1025 any news on this?

I see in the update log from the latest firmware that it is fixed, many thanks!

Looks great. Do you have a sketch of this set up ? Whats that smaller silver box with the vent holes?

@Martijn , this is a great build and provided me some inspiration for my build. My parts are on the way, but I am undecided / not sure how I want to go about mounting my equipment. Can you share any details on the hardware such as the case & risers that You decided to go with?

Thanks!

Hello looking to do a multi room setup with amps etc and hard wired Ethernet connection.

Is there a good way and a step by step so I can build my own rack like this ? Also does anyone have an admin connection ability to build in as well?

Please advise and thank you!!

@Martijn I love this build! I am building a new home and have a server rack in my utility closet and would love a compact design like this.

Where did you find the rack mount case and what are the connectors you are using for the audio and cat5 in the back of the box?

Thank you for sharing!

I believe that is the power for the networking switch.

I am about to perform nearly an identical build. I see you are powering all 6 from a 600W supply. What did you do for the source input? I assume streaming via the network?

Yes, they only serve as network streamers and I group them if I want multiroom audio.

Hi Martijn,

Nice project! Do you have any issues with synchronisation or audio quality with the 12 speakers playing at the same time?
I’m going to build a similar system with 8 speakers using ethernet, in the past I’ve built one with 5 speaker using WiFi but that didn’t work so well, speakers were dropping out, getting out of sync, or artefacts were being played.

Hi Florent,

No I have no synchronization issues at all.
All modules are connected with ethernet and I have never experienced a single dropout.
Good luck with your project!

It is the power supply for the network switch.

Here is the parts list, I ordered it at Reichelt Elektronik.

Hi There,

I did very similar setup and have it running 6 zones, some remotely(separate buildings/sheds) but on same network and working great for 2+years.

I had issue with live radio dropping out for few seconds which got very annoying so tech support gave various solutions, reboot, factory reset, re-install app etc and nothing worked. I even set each board with a fixed ip address and still no fix.

Eventually I plugged out all ethernet cables and connected via WiFi which goes against what I thought was best practice and hey presto live radio working perfect again.

So just a heads up to anyone who has this setup and encounters live radio issues unless it’s been fixed since via firmaware updates.
