As what i have read on other threads, the 0%/100% issue with the volume control was firmware related. Seems that a factory reset does the trick and the volume control will work again.

Thx, I 've been more radical than thisā€¦ Hard resets by grounding first pin 18 (NReload= hard Factory reset) of the A31 board and then the pin 17 (Hard CPU reset). I had to entirely reinitialize every parameter Not sure what originally happenedā€¦but it did the trick.
